Älghagen is located in the southern part of Småland. between Älmhult and Växjö. We are far from the hussle and bussle of the big city. You will find peace and tranquility in the woods of Småland. We are now taking reservations for the summer of 2026. Älghagen was renovated in 2023-2025. Everything is new inside and outside. Sit and relax on our large deck (65kvm) and listen to the birds singing and the whispering pine trees. We have lawn furnature, sun chairs, BBQ and hammocks. The large south facing backyard gets lots of sun. It's privately situated on 200 sqvm. There are no neighbors close by, only some moose strolling by once in a while. Internet and WiFi is available for free. You can get 4G reception with your cell phone. 
Älghagen has an open floor plan. which is a combined kitchen, livingroom and TV room. 3 bedrooms, wood stove and a leather sofas. There is a large dining table, which seats 6 people. Kitchen has black granite counters and white wood floor. Stove with oven, microwave, coffemaker, full size fridge and freezer and a dishwasher. The bathroom has a new shower and a washing machine. 
New installed wood stove made by Contura, a company from Markaryd in Småland, Sweden. There are two bedrooms upstairs and one bedroom on the main floor. The upstairs bedrooms have one king bed and two single beds. The main floor bedroom has a double bed. Smoking is NOT allowed inside the house. Ask us about our pet policy. We are very pet friendly. We have many German TV ASTRA channels. Swedish channels: SVT1 HD, SVT2 HD, TV4, TV24 and Kunskapskanalen. 
Explore lake Åsnen by canoe. You can buy "Fiskekort" fishing license in lake Åsnen online at ifiske.se Lake Åsnen is Småland's second largest lake. The surface area is 160 square km. It has many small bays and islands. It is a great fishing lake with lots of wild life. There are nice beaches in Torne and Hulevik. Close to Åsnen's Nationalpark and Trollberget. 
Älghagen is 5km from the Åsnen Runt trail, which is 140 kilometer long biking and hiking trail. It goes through beautiful areas around lake Åsnen. It is an old railway track turned into a trail. No cars are allowed there. The trail takes you through old and interesting cultural landscape, which offers nature experiences and interesting sights. We are also close to the Sydostleden, which is one of Sweden's best biking trails, extending from Simrishamn in the south to Växjö in the north. It is 270km long trail. Via the Åsnen Runt trail you can reach the Sydostleden from Älghagen. 
Älghagen is located 30km south west of Växjö, between Älmhult and Växjö. 5km to the Åsnen Runt Trail, 5km to Torne, 8km to Hulevik, 10km to Grimslöv, 13km to Huseby Bruk, 18km to Vislanda train station, 30km to Växjö, 31km to Alvesta train station, 47km to IKEA in Älmhult 80km to Glasriket: Kosta Boda, Orrefors and Nybro, 135km to Kalmar, 160km to Ullared, GeKås 168km to Helsingborg, 185km to Malmö. The closest grocery store is Tommys Livs ICA Affär in Lönashult and ICA Dackehallen in Vislanda. Larger grocery stores can be found in Växjö, for example: City Gross, Lidl, MAXI and WiLLY:S. Grocery stores in Älmhult: Lidl, MAXI and WiLLY:S. Shopping Mall in Växjö with 70 shops, cafe and restaurants: Grand Samarkand i Växjö. LEOS LEKLAND is located in Växjö. It is an indoor play ground for kids of all ages. 
Rental: The house is rented on a weekly basis. Check-in is 4pm. Check-out is 10am. The house needs to be clean when you check out. If you do not want to do the cleaning, it can be purchased for 900kr. Bed sheets and towels can be rented. Prices Summer 2026: Please contact us for the best price.
